Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are always welcomed here at the Nodaway County Historical Society Museum. Some of the volunteer opportunities include working at the front desk, gardening, cataloging objects and helping with events and exhibits. Contact us for more details! Call us, stop by during open hours, send an email, or using the contact form at the bottom of this page.
Internships
With an internship at the Historical Society, you will have many opportunities to gain experience in the museum field. The work may include:
-
designing program brochures and museum flyers,
-
preparing education programs and leading tours,
-
monitoring social media sites and preparing posts,
-
writing press releases and articles to promote museum events,
-
training with the Past Perfect software to catalog objects, and
-
learning to research, design, and install exhibits.

We have worked with graduate and undergraduate students from various fields, including history, public history, marketing, and mass media. Motivated high school students also may be welcome.
